Statement

My paintings contain fleeting observations from the everyday.
I seek to suggest and invoke feelings, rather than describe.
The diffusing of the image producing a ambiguity,
embedded into the layering of history.
They are autobiographical in the sense that,
they are directed by experience,
but they intuitively develop a life of their own.
The physical activity of painting allows the
potential of both materials and the inherently
experimental processes to play an evolutionary role.
The layers of paint both convey
and reveal time, with the beneath being
of equal importance to the surface.
